The Archambault M34 is a one-design resulting from an architect competition for the succession of the Mumm 30 / Farr 30 for the Tour de France à la Voile. Like her predecessor she is freed of all constraints from IRC rules and genuinely moving towards performance: the deck layout is turned to the crew efficiency including a large cockpit and the interior is designed more for sails storage than for the crew.

Unlike the Mumm 30, the M34 was designed specifically for the Tour de France à la Voile taking into account some specificities such as the need of road transport and the limited depth in some harbour. The width is reduced under 3m and to compensate the draft is increased to 2.5m – 8.2ft but the lifting keel allows only 1.8m – 5.9ft when not sailing. Finally organizers wishing a boat able to compete in any offshore race, this boat is designed for CE Class A allowing her navigation such a transatlantic.

The M34 has been the official boat of the Tour de France à la Voile from 2011 to 2014.
