RM 1050
Twin keel

The RM 1050 is like the other sailboats of the RM range equipped with a twin keel and made of plywood / epoxy. She is a boat as fast as capable of long range cruising. The hull solidly built and the 2 keels allow to beach without worries and without any extra support. The performance aspect is not outdone; the hard chine hull provides a nice power reinforced by the fresh water used as ballast. The sail plan is more conventional than the first boats of the shipyard but the rig uses lower spreader shorter than the higher one to allow overlapping of the genoa despite of the large width.

The interior is simply furnished, plastic crates act as drawers and storage bins. Everything is designed for navigation: 2 large bunks above the mess settees or kitchen shaped to offer sills in any condition. The short coachroof allows a panoramic vision thanks to the fore window.

The RM 1050 was elected boat of the year in 1999. The first copies were equipped with a plywood deck, replaced later by a sandwich deck.
