The X-40 was introduced in 2004 to replace the X-412. She uses the same hull as the IMX 40, slightly modified and extended by 100mm, the deck and the accommodations are brand new. The X-40 is a real cruiser-racer capable of great performances while welcoming the crew with comfort. Indeed even if the interior space is smaller than a pure cruising sailboat, the accommodations are very functional and features a perfect finish. This racing-cruising compromise permits, in addition, a favorable rating under IRC.

The X-40 was available with three keel versions: standard with a draft of 2.10m – 6.9ft, 1.80m – 5.9ft shoal draft and racing version with a draft of 2.40m – 7.9ft. The accommodations also offer variations: 2 or 3 cabins, one or two heads and classic or lateral galley, all combinations are possible.
