Dufour 39
Deep draft

Dufour 39 uses the hull, drawn by the German Frers for the Dufour 6800, but the materials become more conventional monolithic glass/polyester for the hull and PVC sandwich for the deck. When she was launched, the Dufour 39 was the largest sailboat from Dufour, so the finish is neat and the shipyard leaves a possibility to customize the interior with a structural counter-mold exempting bulkheads of their stiffener purpose. In 1986, the Dufour 39 has been updated, including the accommodation reviewed by Patrick Roséo.

Sailing the Dufour 39 is quite fast, especially upwind, enjoying a small wetted surface and a powerful sail plan. Although the hardware is good, the big genoa requires significant physical effort. The Dufour 39 has been released in 2 versions: 2 cabin (owner) and 3 cabins (charter).
