D-One is the first dinghy designed specifically for Devoti-Sailing and like the shipyard she is efficient and high range. The first aspect that surprise is the width of the racks allowing good control of the important sail area. These platforms are adaptable to compensate the weight of the crew. The mast is self-supporting, as Laser, but allows to use an asymmetric spinnaker thanks to the use of the carbon fiber. This material is also used for all the appendages, bowsprit, boom or even the hull.
The hull forms are modern with good volume in fore sections and hard-chine allowing flat rear part excellent for planning. This hard-chine continues forward, it improves high-speed stability and deflected a part of the spray.
The D-One is a high-performance boat but surprisingly tolerant allowing all kinds of crew from 55 to 115 kg to run with virtually the same opportunities. For the lightest, reduced rig is available with a mainsail of 9,5m², the surface of the spinnaker staying identical.
