Dufour 2800
Deep draft

Even though Dufour 2800 is sometimes judged as a boat without charm, she is mainly a rational cruising monohull. Everything is well thought in order to keep the costs down while maintaining everything essential. The name “2800” does not refer to the boat's length (27ft) but to her displacement.

Dufour 2800 has the same interior height than its precursor, Dufour 27. As a result the boat has a horizontal coachroof, contrary to her coevals.

The sail plan is quite modest, but thanks to the light displacement and a small wetted surface it is still possible to make the boat advance in the light winds. Those sailing with light weathers often seek the version CS with the lead keel and larger sail plan.

Seaworthy, inhabitable and still inexpensive, Dufour 2800 was a big commercial success with over 1500 sold copies.
