Bénéteau
First 30
Fin keel

The First 30 is a piece of history of competitive sailing, her hull was modeled on "I'Impensable" (the unthinkable), winner of the Half-Ton Cup in 1973. From 1979 to 1981 the First 30 becomes the boat of Tour de France a la Voile. Beyond the competition her nautical qualities allow her to become a best-seller and the title of Boat of the Year in 1978.

Hull forms with her narrow transom and pronounced tumblehome betrays her age, but the First 30 is still capable of good performances upwind. Downwind no planning but an important rhythmic roll.

Inside, the volume is more counted than in the modern hull forms but the accommodations are well-designed and seaworthy, including for example four berths in saloon.
