IMX 40

The IMX 40 is designed as a racing yacht, from the flawless construction of the hull to the spars, all made of carbon fiber and produced by Nordic Mast. The results appear quickly, IMX 40 is shown right out by winning the major European races in 2001.

The equipment is also high range: the steering wheel (1700mm – 67 in) controls the rudder via Vectran steering cables. Backstay adjustment uses drum as powerful as hydraulics but faster. A mast-jack is provided to facilitate rigging adjustment. The choice of the deck hardware is at the discretion of the owner between Harken and Frederiksen.

The interior is simple and comfortable, only light is a bit lacking compared to a real cruising sailboat. The table is removable for racing. 2 types of keel were distributed: 2T – 4400 lbs and 2,4T 5300 lbs; the owners have moreover possibility to remove weight correctors to further lighten the boat.

The hull of the X-40 is directly based on the IMX 40.
