Yachting France
Jouët 1080
Deep draft

Yachting France shipyard engaged naval architect Philippe Briand to renew their flagship, the Jouët 1080. The main goal was to design a rapid but comfortable and easily maneuvered cruising boat. The hull is quite close to a One Tonner, this is to say with narrow waterline and wide deck. Combined with a generous sail surface area this gives the boat rather satisfactory performance, making the boat the grand winner of the week in La Rochelle in 1983.

There is surprisingly lot of open space at the inside of the boat. The saloon is one of the most generous and comfortable of this category boats. But this comes with a price: there are no sea bunks and the storage space can be seen as scarce in comparison with other boats of this range. However, one of the two aft cabins is equipped with two superposed bunks and a worktop above the storage. This way the cabin can also be used as a work stead.

The deck plan allows all the maneuvers to be handled from the cockpit. A large transom was proposed as an option increasing the length to 11,45m - 36ft.
