Jouët 680
Centerboard (Trunk)

When entering the markets in 1978, the Jouët 680 came with a revolution. It is one of the first cruising centerboard-sailboats to have interior ballast, a quality that was more connoted with the I.O.R. at the time. The higher center of gravity, caused by the lifted ballast weight, was compensated by increasing the width of the boat's waterline, giving an excellent stability. Obviously this implies to the interior width, giving it the impression of space. The fore has only a partial bulkhead, which yet ensures the ample looks. In the centerboard version the galvanized iron board is nested under the saloon table.

On the deck the fittings is simple and efficient. Despite the race-oriented 7/8 rigging, the sail casting is reasonable, Jouët 680 is still a cruiser sailboat. Such as she is, well designed and seaworthy, this sailboat was produced in more than 420 units.
