Dufour 3800
Deep draft

To replace Dufour 31, that he designed himself, Michel Dufour present at 1980 Paris Boat Show the Dufour 3800. She was shown with black antifouling to focus on the hull by German Frers. She uses the new Dufour classification name: 3800 for its light displacement: 3800 kg.

Dufour 3800 adopts a classic accommodation design without rear cabin and a heavy displacement for the time, in part due to robust construction. It remains reagent with light wind with its elaborated hull and its appendages quality. A most performing Version:"CS" even allows her to compete honorably in regatta.

Catch up by rivals and challenged by financial difficulties of the shipyard, only 300 Dufour 3800 were sold, three times less than Dufour 31.

Dufour 3800 is also called Dufour F31 (its length in feet and F for Frers).
