Royale TDF

Choose an other version:

Rush is a Half Tonner by Jeanneau, meant to replace the Brin de Folie. It has been released in five different versions:

  • Deep draft and shoal draft with a cast iron keel and a masthead rigging with one pair of spreaders
  • Regatta with a lead keel and a masthead rigging but with two sets of spreaders and one pair of running backstays
  • Royal without fore accommodation, has the same keel as the Regatta but it holds a 7/8 rigging
  • Royal TDF similar to the Royal excepted the cast iron keel from the Deep keel version

This multitude of different editions indicates that the shipyard has wanted to offer something for everybody, from occasional cruisers to those who aim to compete. Accommodations can host a complete crew for several days. However, its cruising ability has some limits coming from IOR design (such as fine bow and stern and flat bottom) making this sailboat quite demanding, especially with the spinnaker in harsh winds.

The version Royal TDF was the official sailboat of the Tour de France à la Voile in 1982 and 1983. In 1984, she was replaced by Selection 37. Jeanneau developed the Attalia 32 for cruising purpose.
