Laser Performance was created in 1969 from a simple idea: offer a small fast and cartoppable dinghy. This idea is due to Bruce Kirby and Ian Bruce, two Canadians sailors, who sketched the first model on a napkin in a bar.
None of them had the financial capability to industrialize the project; manufacturing licenses were sold to different manufacturers now grouped in Laser Performance.
Today the offer extends beyond this first model with a wide range of dinghies (single or double) and small keelboats. The original Laser, Olympic sailboat, is still in production.
